There aren’t many celebrities from Ireland, but the ones who are, are BRILLIANT! Some well known celebrities from Ireland are, Bono and all of U2, Collin Ferrell, Sinead O’Connor and Chris O’Dowd. There are many others, but those are my favorites.
Collin Farrell was born on May 31, 1976. He comes from Dublin and studied at the Gaiety School of Drama in Dublin. He established himself with a starring role on the television series Ballykissangel, which takes place in Wicklow. Some other movies that Farrell is known for are, The Way Back, Seven Psychopaths and Saving Mr. Banks.
Sinead O’Connor is also from Dublin and was born on December 8, 1966. Sinead is a but looney. She does certain things that make her quite strange. For example, when Sinead won a grammy for her song, “I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got”, she refused to accept it making her the first artist to rebuff N.A.R.A.S. She made new in 1990 when she said that she would refuse to go on stage at the Garden State Arts Centre in NJ if “The Star Spangled Banner” was performed. Although she tends to be a little bit weird, Sinead has made some great music which makes her one of the top singers to come from Ireland. Some of her top songs are, “Nothing Compares 2 U”, “Mandinka” and “I Am Stretched on Your Grave”.
Lastly, Chris O’Dowd. Chris O’Dowd often plays funny characters in comedy movies. And oh how he does it well! He is from Sligo, Ireland born on October 9, 1979. He has been seen in a lot of Hollywood films like, “Bridesmaids”, “This is 40” and he is in the television series, “Monsters vs. Aliens”. First he attended University College Dublin and then later went to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He is funny as ever and portrays Irishman perfectly with his witty humor and kind heart.
